Starting with the 2009 issue the yearbook contains a book review section.

The idea of this section is not so much to provide a systematic overview of recent publications as rather to contribute to a dialogue between Russian and foreign specialists on Russian history by having important foreign publications reviewed by Russian historians and vice versa.

To foreign authors publishing in English this presents an opportunity to have their work brought to the attention of the Russian scholarly community. Russian authors might benefit from the "view from the sideline" offered by foreign reviewers.

In Russian journal tradition, we offer the possibility to publish somewhat larger review articles, up to 15000 characters.

People who would like to submit a review to the yearbook are urged to contact our book review editor on beforehand as we can publish only a limited number of reviews per issue. Also, please, note our editorial policy and journal profile.
